OWNER USES CUTE GROUPON  PHOTOS OF DISABLE CAT TO RAISE MONEY FOR SURGERY

Owner uses Groupon photoshoot to raise cash for cat surgery

When a disabled cat needed an operation to fix his legs, his owner decided to use professional photos purchased with Groupon vouchers to raise some cash.
The cute snaps of Winslow the cat and Alex Lubow were taken last May at J.C. Penney, in the United States, using the popular discount tokens.
At the time, people were confused as to why the 22-year-old student was taking pictures with his kitten when most other people had come with family members.

‘I was certainly getting lots of looks,’ Lubow told Buzzfeed.com.
‘I sat around with the other families. Of course all of them had their little babies and newborns, and seemed pretty upset that my kitten was probably 10 times cuter.’
But in the end the photos proved vital after helping to raise more than $5000 (£3,035) on gofundme.com, which was $2000 (£1214) more than the original target for Winslow’s operation.

The nine-month-old feline will now be able to get surgery on his kneecaps, which kept dislodging because of a genetic disorder.
